The LAMP is proud to be part of Media Literacy Week in the United States. Now in its second year, the nationwide celebration is organized by NAMLE, where our own Executive Director D.C. Vito is a Board Member.
As part of Media Literacy Week 2016, LAMP Education Director Jules Beesley will be part of a distinguished panel at Fordham University on November 1 called Media Literacy: Talking To Kids About Politics. With the election exactly one week following the panel, the discussion could hardly be more timely, and we’re excited to bring everything we’ve learned from our Break the Election and Letters to the Next President 2.0 experiences.
The event at Fordham University is sponsored by the Children’s Media Association. Other panelists include Michelle Ciulla Lipkin, Executive Director of NAMLE; Lewis Freeman of Fordham University; Jean Margaret Smith from Viacom Media Networks; Damaso Reyes and Darragh Worland of The News Literacy Project; and Russell Kahn from News-O-Matic. The event is free – we hope to see you there!
