We’ve been proud to be part of the Digital Waves Youth Media Festival for the last two years, but we’re especially excited about this year’s event, DWF 3.0: NewsHive. As you’ve probably noticed, there’s a landmark mayoral race underway in New York City, and to say it’s been a bit of a circus is a major understatement. With over-the-top news coverage and serious issues at stake surrounding education, equality, housing, justice and more, it’s crucial that teens have an opportunity to make their voice heard and connect with other media-makers in their community. And that’s exactly what this year’s festival is all about! On October 18-19, young people aged 13-25 will take to the streets and create multimedia pieces about the stories that matter most to them. As with past years, the entire event is free, and will feature a media competition, dance party, prizes and much more. Registration is open now – click here to sign up, and keep up with latest news when you like us on Facebook!
