In a print collage, Marc from The LAMP’s winter intensive at MECA questions true beauty and the role that advertisements play in how it is perceived.
“With my collage, I’m questioning true beauty. Many people say you need makeup or you don’t need makeup, so I honestly want to question what beauty is. Because you’re not beautiful unless you say you’re beautiful. I had all these random magazine images, and the one thing they had in common was beauty products. Then you have this female model, Jennifer Aniston, who some people would interpret as looking beautiful. But she has makeup and her hair is done, and so I really wanted to question what’s actual true beauty.”
