Meet Oriana, a sophomore at EPIC North High School in Queens, who has been participating in The LAMP’s Photography as Activism program this past semester:
“I really enjoyed creating stories with my photos mainly because I had personal views of them and then my peers also got to see them and have their own story as well. I learned a lot of new things about photography in general but the main thing I learned was the different camera angles; my personal favorite was the close up. I was really interested in posting my photos on Tumblr because I used to only use Instagram but now I have another option for a place to show my work. My favorite part of the program was taking pictures of the places and some members in the community. I will continue to take photos and use the skills that I have learned from The LAMP program.”
