Hatchimals may be this holiday’s season hot toy, but media literacy is a year-round cause.
And giving to The LAMP during our Annual Appeal will hatch new and exciting things far beyond the 25-minute birthing of a typical Draggle.
That’s because we’ve got big things planned for 2017, like continued improvements to our MediaBreaker/Studios tool. Teachers in 45 states and 22 countries are already discovering how video remix can enrich digital learning, and your support can help us make much-needed upgrades to keep the tool functional and free for all to use. We’ve also just learned we’ll be part of the CS4All STEM Institute in February, training New York City public school teachers about algorithms and biases so they can bring vital computer science and literacy skills back to their students. Our Digital Career Path job skills training programs will also continue citywide, in addition to our programming at schools like the New Settlement School in the Bronx, P.S. 307 in Brooklyn, the Manhattan Early College for Advertising, the Secondary School for Journalism in Brooklyn, the Bronx’s Immaculate Conception Middle School and many more partners.
Your gift will support these programs and help us meet our Annual Appeal fundraising goal of $8,000. Plus, all gifts are 100% tax-deductible, which we know you’ll appreciate come April when that Hatchimal is living quietly with dust bunnies under the bed.
