Join The LAMP and a team of experts for our first ever Twitter chat on Wednesday, January 18 at 4pm EST!
Following a tumultuous national election campaign, the need for young people to learn basic media literacy and digital citizenship skills is more urgent than ever before. But how can community organizations and institutions best serve teachers and librarians in these efforts? What tools, resources and support systems can help? In this Twitter chat, organized by nationally-recognized media literacy nonprofit The LAMP, teachers and librarians will discuss the challenges of teaching media literacy in and out of school settings, and imagine tools for addressing those challenges. Moderators include librarians Leigh Hurwitz and Meredith Butts, public school educator Teresa Setzer and LAMP Education Associate Zenzele Johnson, with support from Kescheler Nix-Powell and The LAMP.
We’ll be using the Participate platform, but you can join us anywhere in the Twitterverse using the hashtag #LAMPchat.
