The LAMP is thrilled to announce the MEDIA BREAKER, the first online video editor designed exclusively for remixing third-party content like music videos, commercials, news clips and more!
To celebrate the MEDIA BREAKER launch, we’re hosting an event with New York University School of Law on October 29 called Taking On the Take-Down Notice: Copyright, Youth and Educators in Harmony. The event will include two panels, one featuring students and one featuring adults who respond to issues raised by the students. If you’re interested in media-making , if you had ever had questions or issues in the past around piracy, software downloads or plagiarism, we want you to be on the student panel!
Time Commitment: The event is on October 29th from 4-7, and the youth panel will run from 4-5pm. Before the event, students on the panel will also participate in one conference call (roughly 30 minutes) with the panel moderator.
What you get out of it: This is a great opportunity to practice your public-speaking skills and add to your resume for college applications! You’ll also be an important voice in the discussion, and you’ll be able to network with leaders in media and technology, plus artists and activists—they will all be really interested in what you have to say.
